The Civil Code of the People’s Republic of China, implemented on January 1, 2021, creates the “administrator” system. An administrator is a person who shall, after the start of inheritance and before the completion of estate division, be responsible for handling matters related to the estate, will, and inheritance division according to the designation of the deceased, the commission of the inheritor, or the appointment of the court in accordance with the law. The administrator system is established for the purposes of properly cleaning up, preserving, and handling inheritances, claims and debts of the deceased, balancing the interests of the inheritor and other stakeholders, and distributing the estate to the inheritor, legatee and stakeholders, for the legal, orderly and harmonious inheritance of family wealth.

On March 18, 2022, the “Launching Ceremony of the Pool of Harmonious Family-Oriented Administrators” witnessed a successful opening, which was attended by representatives of more than ten government departments, industry associations, financial institutions and media units, including Social Welfare Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, China Community Development Association of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Haidian District Bureau of Justice of Beijing, Haidian District Mediation Association, Haidian District Lawyers Association, the People’s Mediation Committee of Beijing Qiankun Law Firm, Haicheng Notary Office, Bank of Ningbo Beijing Branch, Noah Wealth Management and first listed law firms. WANG Yanling, partner and Director of the Department of Marriage and Family Affairs of Beijing Blossom & Credit Law Firm, attended the launch ceremony as our representative.
